Max is a director/writer/mammal.

PALM SPRINGS, his narrative debut, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to receive two Golden Globe Nominations, a WGA Award Nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy.

He also wrote and directed MOMMY, I'M A BASTARD!, an autobiographical feature documentary about his adoption.

Max earned his MFA in Directing from the AFI Conservatory, trained with Werner Herzog in Cuba, and is a graduate of Yale University.

He recently wrapped BROTHERS, a caper starring Josh Brolin, Peter Dinklage, Brendan Fraser, and Glenn Close for Legendary Pictures. Up next, he is writing/directing a body-swap comedy starring Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, which he will produce alongside LuckyChap Entertainment at Amazon Studios.
